Japan Power Generation Limited is a public limited company, established on September 29, 1994 under the Companies Ordinance, 1984. Its shares are listed on the Lahore and Karachi Stock Exchange. The primary purpose of the company is to generate and supply electricity to WAPDA. It began commercial operations on March 14, 2000. Its power plant, located at Jia Bagga Railway Station, Raiwind Road, District Lahore-Pakistan, has an installed capacity of 135 MW, consisting of 24 diesel power generator sets of 5.65 MW each, designed to run using heavy furnace oil (HFO), while startup and shutdown operations use high speed diesel oil (HSD).
