In 1964, Pakistan began its journey into the world of television broadcasting with a small pilot station in Lahore, which transmitted its first-ever black and white footage. Two years later, television centers were established in Karachi and Rawalpindi/Islamabad, and by 1974, further centers had opened in Peshawar and Quetta.
